Tis the Season to be Thankful

Olde Bryan Inn is well-known around town and in our online presence for our turkey. Brined for hours in our own recipe of spices and then oven-roasted to perfection, we hand carve every bird before serving it with gravy lovingly made from scratch. It is not uncommon to hear the expression “It’s like Thanksgiving but in June!” (or whatever non-November month it happens to be), tossed around at OBI between guests, or even employees. Cranberry sauce, stuffing, homemade smashed potatoes, and a side of freshly steamed veggies accompany this plate, helping to achieve its infamous holiday meal equivalency.
Every year around this time, Sully and the team at OBI put together a regiment of volunteer drivers, cooks, prep people, cleanup crew, and organizers to feed hundreds of local people that Classic Thanksgiving Dinner. The bulk of the donated meals go to soup kitchens and people in need, but a good portion of them are delivered to the elderly, whether in assisted communities, or on their own. People for whom traveling is not an option, or who don’t have a place to travel to; some don’t have the time, ability, resources, or necessity to cook a Holiday Meal.
Olde Bryan Inn wishes to extend our Thankfulness toward our family and friends who make these holiday dinners for our community members in need a possibility. Every year the number of meals we put out increases and without fail the number of phone calls and messages we get from volunteers grows and grows. Without the support of the volunteers and the generosity of many of our guests, family members, and neighbors, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. We are sincerely grateful to be a part of a community that has so much heart, especially around the holiday season.
Have a Safe and Wonderful Thanksgiving, from our Family to Yours.
