Tap Feature: Frog Alley Brewery

Posted in general

The Tavern in the Olde Bryan Inn is a special place, full of warmth. In summer you can sit by the window, sipping a mule, lazily watching the cars zoom on to Broadway, and in the Winter a hot toddy by the fire is the way to survive the weather. Our friendly bartenders are always ready to pour you something tasty, and the wood beam atmosphere can’t be beat.

Even with all those wonderful aspects of our OBI Tavern, the greatest feature of all, according to many, is our on-tap system with 16 varieties of brews. From hard cider, to Guinness to Bud Lite, we will almost always have something you can rely on to love.

The beers that get us most excited aren’t the tried-and-true names you’ll see at any bar – here at Olde Bryan Inn we try to support our local small businesses as much as they support us! This is why we are proud to pour Frog Alley Brewery’s Captain Ellis Porter as our featured on-tap beer this Month!

Located within a 40 minute drive of Olde Bryan Inn, the Schenectady-based brewery is “about having fun and making great craft brews,” said company founder, JT Pollard.

Captain Ellis Porter is, according to Untappd, “Dark in color, approaching black with ruby highlights due the generous use of English chocolate and crystal malts. The strong roasted note of the malt bill is balanced with US grown Warrior and Centennial hops”

If you’re curious about this featured beer at OBI, or any of our on-tap selections, join us in our Tavern Sunday – Thursday from 4-6 for Happy Hour, or order one any time! We hope to continue to bring you wonderful capital region products and support our local friends in business!
