Olde Bryan Inn’s Guide to Holiday Hospitality
The Holidays span from any time before Thanksgiving through at least the First of the Year, and those months hold endless opportunities for fun! As the old song goes,
There’ll be parties for hosting
Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow;
and so many other wonderful ways to enjoy the season! Those hosting parties to celebrate the festive moments with family and friends can check out the following tips from Olde Bryan Inn on how to warmly welcome your guests, and help them feel the holiday spirit!
- Delicious Food! As a kid you looked forward to that visit from Santa, but as an adult, nothing is more exciting than the loaded table of edible tradition. For those looking for a simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer, try putting out bowls of locally-made Saratoga Chips alongside a variety of dips! We like horseradish cream, buttermilk ranch, and chipotle aioli. (Tip: Call us for takeout any day we are open! Please call in advance for large orders)
- Décor is Crucial – To harken back to another holiday earworm, “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go”. That’s right, the OBI is “glistening once again”, as we believe nothing lights the season quite as brightly as, well, lights! Twinkling, modern strands are intertwined with elegant garland, and the electric flickering tapers in each window recalls the first Christmases spent in this colonial home.
Take it from us – the right décor can surely “make the season bright” for your guests - Fireside is the best place to spend the Holiday! There are far too many Holiday songs that reference enjoying company by the fire to mention any lyrics. You get the idea! Put the Yule Log Channel on the television, find a friend with a fireplace, or stop by for lunch… we might know of some…!
- Tradition – Maybe you aren’t the best cook, or maybe you just don’t want to do dishes, but one time-honored tradition is to skip the hosting, and meet your friends at Olde Bryan Inn for a Holiday Luncheon! Every year at this time we see a stream of happy friends and families gather to exchange gifts and memories, and enjoy favorite dishes they have eaten by our fire for decades of Christmases!
With all of these lovely Holiday Traditions waiting to happen, which are you most excited to implement this season as you welcome loved ones? If you need help with hosting, give us a call! We do takeout, as well as large party reservations!
You worry about the mistletoe, and let us handle the Hospitality! And may your days be Merry and Bright!
