OBI at 40 Years

What is the connection between French Onion Soup, Chocolate Mousse, Spinach Salad, and a Steak Sandwich? Besides being favorites at the Olde Bryan Inn, they are also staple menu items here for exactly 40 years now! The menu has changed and grown over the years, but some things are too good to leave in the past.
In 1979 when Dave Powers and Stephen Sullivan first opened the doors to the Olde Bryan Inn as the beloved Tavern and Restaurant it is today, Saratoga was a different city in many ways.
“All the restaurants in Saratoga closed from 3:00 to 5:00, and had a different menu for lunch and dinner,” Sully will tell you, “that’s just what everyone did.”
Olde Bryan Inn became somewhat of a trail-blazing restaurant by breaking the trend and staying open through the day, as well as offering an all-day menu! Our homemade menu items, historic atmosphere, and family-like team, has propelled OBI forward through the decades.
When a favorite dish is no longer on our menu, Chef John says, it’s to take away items that aren’t selling as well and to make room for exciting new creations and experiments by our culinary team. “Don’t worry, Turkey Dinner isn’t going ANYWHERE!” said Chef
From being the new restaurant in town, breaking all the rules, to today, we are grateful to our many patrons, who have become more like family and dear friends over the years. As we continue to balance comfort food with cutting edge, we look forward to the next 40 years and beyond.
