Camp & Cheesecake
Posted in general
The Olde Bryan Inn and Longfellows sell cheesecake slices every October with profits benefitting the Oncology Ward at Saratoga Hospital. J & S Watkins supplies French Vanilla Cheesecakes with pink icing ribbons on each slice, to signify Breast Cancer Awareness. In the Spring the icing décor became a blue circle in honor of Type 1 Diabetes, and early Summer brought slices with purple hearts on them for the local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
We are back at it again, with a new round of cheesecakes and a new group! From August through September we are now featuring slices of French Vanilla Cheesecake with a mirrored “H”, in honor of the Double H Ranch.
The Double H Ranch was co-founded by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman. Providing specialized programs for children and their families dealing with life-threatening or chronic illnesses, Double H also offers year-round support. The completely free program first opened on July 4, 1993 and has welcomed over 60,000 children since, from all around the world.
Children who participate at Double H Ranch are able to experience the magic of the Adirondacks in a ways that may not have been available to them in the past. With over 320 acres of land, lake access, pools, a ropes course, archery, horseback riding, and many other adventures, Double H is a welcome escape from reality for children and families with unusual stresses in their life. Specially-built facilities, run by specially-trained volunteers and staff help make the magic come to life.
Stop in for lunch, dinner, or just dessert from now through September 17th, and enjoy a smooth, sweet slice of Double H Cheesecake. $2 per slice will go directly to Double H, to benefit campers and families. Olde Bryan Inn and Longfellows would like to thank all of our guests for helping to make this a success.
